Pandle is a full accounting package on the cloud. It is free of charge for small businesses, but there are some features which are paid for, including automated bank feeds and extra sales invoice templates.
A free trial is available to see if it suitable for your business. It is fully GDPR compliant as per their policy.
Wave Apps is also worth reviewing, but it is not GDPR compliant when it came into force.
There are many websites which offer free Excel bookkeeping templates, or you could design your own. Excel templates can assist you with your accounting records including; balance sheet, forecasting, cash flow, sales invoices and petty cash.
Cloud accounting software – Online accounts software
Cloud accounting software is also becoming very popular as it allows people to access the accounts from anywhere. There are a few advantages over purchasing a product
- You can access your accounts from anywhere with internet access by using the cloud
- No upfront costs, just a monthly fee
- No space required on your computer for a software package
- You can give other people access to the data; this may be useful for your accountant or bookkeeper
- Most suppliers provide a free trial, so you can try before you buy
Alternatives to Excel
If you do not have Excel there is an alternative that can be used; we recommend Apache Open Office. It is free to download and use, most of the features are similar to Microsoft products. Apache is an Open Source software that has been developed by professionals for their own use.
