All the figures for the year are calculated on an annual profit and loss report. Figures are posted to sales or expenditure using a drop-down list.

Keeping track of all your expenses and making sure you claim for everything is important. It can reduce your tax bill by lowering profits. The expense template allows you to record mileage and other sundry expenses.

If you can’t find the spreadsheet you need, either design a template yourself or hire someone to do it for you. There are lots of useful YouTube videos to help get started.
If you want something more advanced, it may be worth looking into using an accounting package. A couple of the best ones for self-employed are QuickBooks and FreshBooks. They have been designed to be easy to use, lots of instructions to get you started, and will grow as your business grows.
